New Cosmos of Photography Tokyo Exhibition 2011 opens
Grand Prize selection open committee meeting to be held during the exhibition period

The New Cosmos of Photography Tokyo Exhibition 2011 will present the Excellence Award-winning works of five artists and the Honorable Mention works of 20 artists, who were selected from among 1,305 entrants in 2011 (34th competition). An exhibition of new works by Karen Sato, Grand Prize winner 2010, will be held concurrently.

The open committee meeting to select one Grand Prize winner from among this year's Excellence Award winners will also be held during the exhibition period. At the Grand Prize selection open committee meeting, Excellence Award winners will give presentations and each will have a question and answer session with the judges lasting approximately 15 minutes. This is a great opportunity to hear opinions, evaluations, and active discussions about current photographic expression through the award-winning works with this year's new group of judges. Do not miss it!

If you would like to attend the Grand Prize selection open committee meeting, please make an advanced reservation (application details will be made available on this homepage by early-October). We hope you will take this opportunity to attend the events.

Also, during the exhibition period, individuals in the photography industry will carry out a public review of the award-winning works, and award-winners will take part in events where they will talk about their concepts and intentions when creating their works, etc.

omments from the artist:
Is it a dream of a dream, of a dream?
Everything enters, slips away, and is forgotten.
Disappears and appears.
It is simply repeated.
Coming and going.
Is it the same as completely changing its shape?
What is real?
Recognition and the world before our eyes.
I am watching
