The Grand Prize selection open committee meeting of the New Cosmos of Photography 2011 (the 34th competition) met in front of a public audience on November 11 to select the Grand Prize winner from among five Excellence Award finalists.

The Grand Prize selection open committee meeting will be held on Friday, November 11 during The New Cosmos of Photography Tokyo Exhibition 2011.

The New Cosmos of Photography Tokyo Exhibition 2011 will present the Excellence Award-winning works of five artists and the Honorable Mention works of 20 artists, who were selected from among 1,305 entrants in 2011 (34th competition). An exhibition of new works by Karen Sato, Grand Prize winner 2010, will be held concurrently.

Five Excellent Award winners and 20 Honorable Mention Award winners were selected from among 1,305 entrants.

Canon announced today that it is now accepting entry applications for the “New Cosmos of Photography 2011” photo competition. Entries for this year’s contest will be accepted from Wednesday, April 13 until Thursday, June 9 (24:00 on the final day), with applications accepted using the Web Application Entry system.
