The Grand Prize selection open committee meeting of the New Cosmos of Photography 2012 (the 35th competition) met in front of a public audience on November 9 to select the Grand Prize winner from among five Excellence Award finalists

The Grand Prize selection open committee meeting will take place on Friday, November 9 during The New Cosmos of Photography Tokyo Exhibition 2012.

The New Cosmos of Photography Tokyo Exhibition 2012 will present the Excellence Award-winning works of five artists and the Honorable Mention works of 20 artists, who were selected from among 1,325 entrants in 2012 (35th competition). An exhibition of new works by Maya Akashika, Grand Prize winner 2011, will be held concurrently.

Five Excellent Award winners and 20 Honorable Mention Award winners were selected from among 1,325 entrants.

The New Cosmos of Photography exhibition of award-winning works will be held from May 25 at sendai mediatheque.

Canon announced today that it is now accepting entries for the “New Cosmos of Photography 2012” competition. Entries for this year’s contest will be accepted from Wednesday, April 11 until Wednesday, June 13 (24:00 on the final day), with applications being processed using the Web Application Entry system.

In 2012, we welcome three photographers with New Cosmos of Photography award experience (Katsumi Omori, Masafumi Sanai, and HIROMIX) and two art and photo critics (Noi Sawaragi and Minoru Shimizu).

New Cosmos of Photography Magazine #26, featuring the 2011 (the 34th competition) collection of winning works, is available free of charge from today to anyone that wants a copy at the seven Canon Gallery locations nationwide (Shinagawa, Sapporo, Sendai, Ginza, Nagoya, Umeda, and Fukuoka).

The New Cosmos of Photography 2011 (34th competition) exhibition of award-winning works will be held from April 3 in Osaka.
