American Cancer Society

The Canon Team had 165 fundraisers for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Event.
The mission of the American Cancer Society is to eliminate cancer as a major health concern through extensive research, education, advocacy and services for patients and their families. Throughout the U.S., Canon and its employees have supported ACS to help the organization continue its research and services.
ACS is a leader in breast cancer research, funding more than $271 million in breast cancer grants since 1972. In addition to research, the ACS national breast and cervical cancer early detection program provides low-income, uninsured and underinsured women access to life-saving breast cancer screening tests and follow-up services. The program has provided more than four million screening exams since its inception.
This year in the U.S., 216,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die from it. For more than a decade, ACS has organized an annual fund-raising "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" campaign. In New York and elsewhere, Canon has supported this effort since 1998.
