Canon Inc. invited disabled children residing in Kanagawa Prefecture to a regular J. League match between Yokohama F. Marinos and Sanfrecce Hiroshima played at the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture on November 20, in cooperation with Japan Professional Football League (J. League) and Yokohama Marinos Corporation.
This program, organized by J. League and its official sponsor Canon Inc., aims to invite children, who usually have little chance to watch a game, to J. League matches, and provide them with an opportunity to get acquainted with sports. This social contribution program was the fifth event of its kind. The participating children were invited in advance through the Kanagawa Council of Social Welfare, and a total of fifty guests including the disabled children and people attending them took part in the program.
While visiting the pitch in the morning, the participants had fun with Marinos-kun and Marinosuke, characters of Yokohama F. Marinos, and had their photos taken. Afterwards, the chief promotion officer of Yokohama F. Marinos Yoshiaki Shimojo talked about the highlights of the match.
In the afternoon, Yokohama F. Marinos players Yuji Nakazawa and Kenta Kano came to see them. After a question-and-answer session, both players handed each participant a team flag and gave autographs.
The participants enjoyed watching the thrilling match, cheering enthusiastically for the team together with Canon volunteers who joined the event. With their fantastic support, Yokohama F. Marinos won the game by three to one.
