On July 19, 2007, the Thai Canon Group (Canon Hi-Tech (Thailand), Canon Marketing (Thailand), Canon Ayutthaya (Thailand), and Canon Engineering (Thailand) celebrated the 80th birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and concurrently commemorated the 120th anniversary of Japan - Thailand diplomatic relations and held "Canon Cares for Your Life," an event commemorating the 70th anniversary of the founding of Canon Inc. At the celebration, Canon President Tsuneji Uchida presented laser surgery equipment to Dr. Maiyadhaj, Director of the Prasat Neurological Institute (National Cerebro-neurological Research Institute of Thailand).
In his address at the presentation ceremony, President Uchida explained that, under the corporate philosophy of kyosei, Canon actively promotes Social Contribution Activities. He said that "Since Canon Hi-Tech (Thailand) was established within the Kingdom of Thailand in 1990, the company has contributed to society in a variety of ways, for example, carrying out activities to contribute to schools in the Ayutthaya district, where the company is located. In this commemorative year for the Kingdom of Thailand, King Bhumibol Adulyade and for friendly relations between Thailand and Japan and for Canon itself, we are honored to be able to donate this medical equipment to the Prasat Neurological Institute on this occasion, in order to be able to be of some service in supporting the health and safety of the people of Thailand."
It is said that cerebro-vascular disease is one of the three major cases of death in the Kingdom of Thailand. This presentation of medical equipment should serve to further raise the level of medical care provided by Prasat Neurological Institute, the leader in treating this disease in Thailand.
