Direct Viewing of Web Content and Output for Improved Efficiency
Web Browser Function
Canon's Web Browser function provides direct access to Internet or intranet content from the operation panel of a network digital MFP, enabling the browsing or printing of online content without the need for a PC. For example, this function allows users to directly access and print PDF files stored in an intranet database.
Canon customized the browser embedded in mobile phones and other information appliances, linked it to Canon's proprietary authentication functions (ID management by department, MEAP-based authentication, system management), and installed it into network digital MFPs as a browser application. The browser application is designed to identify high-load Web content and alter processing algorithms to enable Web browsing with minimal memory and device resources, modifying task priorities to ensure that other operations proceed uninterrupted even when carrying out heavy-load processes.
