The copying machine has evolved into the network digital multifunction product (network digital MFP), which adds the functions of faxing, scanning and network printing in addition to the basic function of large-volume copying to meet needs in offices. Today, the network digital MFP is entering an important new stage of evolution. Canon adopted a new concept of product development with its monochrome network digital MFPs in the imageRUNNER (iR) series, in which it thoroughly pursued the creation of modules and component units. This concept resulted in the amazing speed of expansion in the imageRUNNER-series lineup.

In November 2002, Canon announced the imageRUNNER C3200 (iR C3200), its first color network digital MFP offering. Thanks to the tireless efforts of project engineers, this revolutionary business machine provides excellent color reproduction as well as high-speed operation and smooth network connectability.
