UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) International Photographic Competition on the Environment, sponsored by CANON INC., encouraged people, regardless of age, sex, religion or nationality to submit photographs reflecting the diversity of the planet and its people.

The Competition was started in 1991, and staged 4 times of that by 2004-2005.

People use the expression, “Photography is a universal language.” It is particularly appropriate here, since we believe these photographs will deeply touch the hearts of many people because of the great concern they show for our environment.
